Inclusion at Work is designed for a busy workplace, where face-to-face training may not be feasible. This 5-module course provides learners with perspectives that are foundational to an inclusive mindset, and tools to immediately impact their workplace culture in a positive way.

Why invest in Diversity and Inclusion?

It’s legislated!
Changes to the OH&S Act (Bill 30) have put increased attention on protecting the health and well-being of all Alberta workers, and inclusive workplaces have been shown to be healthy workplaces.

It’s critical to Psychological Health & Safety!
Work-related psychological health problems can be expensive to employers—absenteeism, turnover, health and safety infractions, and human rights violations all impact cost and time. Focus on inclusion at work to increase your organization’s productivity and performance.

A diverse and inclusive workplace results in increased revenue!
A diverse and inclusive organization supports innovative employees who feel valued and fulfilled. Creating this environment can help to drive profitability and business value.

Module 1: Definitions of Diversity & Inclusion as they relate to the workplace context

Module 2: The Inclusion Mindset. This module explores the mindset that is most impactful for individual and organizational learning for a more inclusive workplace

Module 3: Seeking to Understand. This module looks at the skills of empathy and how they work when people have a history of being marginalized or excluded

Module 4: Understanding Bias. This module explains key biases as they relate to building inclusion skills

Module 5: Leaving our armour at the door. This module explores our preference for ease, comfort, and safety and how learning and developing inclusion skills occurs most efficiently outside of that safety
