This course introduces participants to data analytics and how it can be incorporated into organizational decision-making. Topics include roles, tools, processes, risks, and data visualization. The course will draw on examples from several sectors including professional sports, healthcare, and transportation. Learners will be exposed to actual data, analyses, and data products with an emphasis on interpretation and application. In addition, learners will be introduced to managing analytic capabilities, including assessing major risks, identifying opportunities and communicating results to stakeholders. The course will explore big data from the aspects of gathering, use and execution on decisions.
